Levi-Richman Multidisciplinary Oral-Systemic Research Grants

 
$50,000 – $100,000 in research grants are awarded annually to individuals and collaborative teams conducting epidemiological research on the oral-systemic link.

Eligibility

Collaborative teams consisting of a periodontics resident or early-career faculty member with five or fewer years in academia at an accredited institution, partnering with a resident, fellow, or early-career faculty member in a relevant discipline such as medicine or public health.

The award is to be used exclusively for oral-systemic link research purposes and not to be used to replace support that would have normally been provided by the recipient’s institution. An individual may receive a maximum of two grants. Immediate family members of the AAP Foundation Board of Directors, officers, and selection committee members are not eligible to apply.

Application and Selection Procedure

Recipients are selected by an award committee appointed by the AAP Foundation president. Applications are accepted twice yearly, with deadlines of April 1 and October 1.

  • Payment Schedule
    Grants are paid in three equal installments: 1/3 on selection, 1/3 on submission of a status report following data collection, and 1/3 following submission of a manuscript to the Journal of Periodontology or Clinical Advances in Periodontics, which have right of first refusal to publish.
